from one i.t consultant to another, talking about spam blocking on a business platform deffiantly, especially if hosting your own exchange or mail server. Trend Micro offer there new worry free business products which are fantastic as your mail records route to there mail servers, get cleaned then forwarded onto your own mail server. This reduces spam, bandwidth and potential virus problems...

as for home users, cant hurt to have a spam tool, but alot of them are useless, however the trend and mcafee home protection software is good, the free ones like avg dont seem to work that well.

Hmm, interesting. The first comment for this article appears to be another type of SPAM known as Trackback SPAM. The Computer Network Security website points to cashgo.org. When you visit their link (and I recommend you don't) you get a pop-up for Partypoker.com. Of course I could delete the trackback, but I'll leave it as an example which serves to demonstrate that nowadays SPAM is not just confined to email. With the advent of Web 2.0 platforms, like Blogs, Wikis, Mapping etc., the creators of SPAM are moving on to these platforms as well as they seek to meet their own objectives
